Hi, I’m Ellie. I’m 22 and based in Elsternwick.
I’m an experienced nanny who has worked with multiple families over the years, mainly with children aged 1–3. I’m currently working with two families: one regularly on Mondays and another on an occasional weekend basis.
I have a Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care, with placement experience in a daycare setting. I have worked as a swimming instructor, teaching all age groups, including babies from 12 weeks old.
I’m enthusiastic, reliable, and genuinely love working with children. I prioritise safety while creating engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that support each child’s growth. I have a strong interest in early childhood development and find it incredibly rewarding to help children build skills, confidence, and independence.
My approach is centred around patience and kindness, with clear and consistent boundaries. I aim to support children through their emotions in a calm and understanding way, using redirection and age-appropriate communication to guide behaviour. I focus on meeting children where they’re at, adjusting my approach to keep things positive, engaging, and supportive. Whilst teaching them building blocks to support themselves independently.
I’m very creative and enjoy designing activities that align with each child’s interests while encouraging learning and development. This often looks like messages taught with their favourite characters, or hands on activities focused on cause and effect. With babies, I place a strong emphasis on communication and interaction, as this plays a key role in early language development. This tends to look like narrating what they are looking at and linking them with key words: soft/big/far/up
I look forward to the opportunity to work with your family
