Melbourne, VIC

Start Date: 16 Jul 26
Applications Close: 15 Oct 26

Posted by Nita 15 days ago

Job Details: Part-time

$45 per hour

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has experience working with children 3-4 years old and is looking for casual work. Must have car.

The role is a Test Officer who is responsible for conducting child panel testing for child-resistant packaging in accordance with AS 1928:2026. The role involves:
1. Coordinating testing sessions with Early Learning Centres,
2. Conducting child panel testing by sitting down with the children as they attempt to open the package, and
3. Recording the test results.

We need someone who is reliable and organised and has effective communication skills as you will need to coordinate multiple childcare centres across Melbourne to undertake each test process. The work is not consistent but generally expect that its about at least 12-14 tests a year providing a good little extra income stream.

The Test description:
A child is given an assembled child-resistant package that is filled with inert material (clean sand or water). The child then tries to remove the lid within 5 minutes. If the child can’t remove it, then it’s non-verbally demonstrated to them. After the demonstration, they try to remove it again for 5 minutes. The test is over if the child can remove the lid or if they cannot remove it within 5 minutes after the demonstration. Children may be tested in groups of up to four.

Position requirements:
1. Must hold a valid Working With Children Check,
2. Must have a National Police Check from within the last 12 months,
3. No educational background or laboratory experience required,
4. Ability to communicate fluently in English,
5. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines, and
6. Enthusiasm for working with children.

Early Learning Centres generally require ~1.5 weeks to collect parent permissions after they’ve been booked in.
Wednesdays and Thursdays generally have the highest attendance rates for Early Learning Centres.

You will receive full training and proper induction prior to commencing. The first testing you will undertake with a supervisor to build confidence in the process.

Pay:
Child panel testing generally takes ~1-2 days (includes travel time to and from different centres) but has the potential to be completed in one day if the Test Officer is organised and has properly coordinated the Early Learning Centres.
- The total job pay ~$650 dollars fixed per test, regardless if it takes 1 day or 2 days.
- An additional $100 fuel reimbursement (inclusive of GST) is paid per test.

Job Details: Part-time

Hourly rate not specified

I'm looking for 1-2 nannies in or near SOUTH YARRA to take my twin infants to childcare 4 days weekly (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). In the morning, it's quite easy - you change their nappy from the night, give them a formula bottle, and take them to childcare, which is 5 minutes away, between 7-8am in the morning, so it can take about 30-40 minutes total.
In the evening, you pick them up from childcare at 6pm, then feed (solid food)/wash/change them before going to bed at 8pm, so 2 hours total (6-8pm)
In addition, each nanny does 1 day on the weekend, for example, Saturday Or Sunday from 12-5pm (or 1-6pm).
Ideally, you should have experience caring for infants; be friendly, warm, and nurturing; understand infants' needs; have good command of English; and perform light duties, such as kids' laundry, food prep, cleaning after them.
If interested and qualified, please contact me to discuss asap.

Hello!

We’ve recently relocated from the Surf Coast to Melbourne and are looking for a wonderful part-time nanny to become part of our family and help care for our two daughters, aged 4 and 7.

Tuesdays | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Our eldest will need to be dropped off at school in the morning, after which you'll spend the day with our youngest. Happy to help with light household tasks related to the children, and happy to cook meals.

NEW! Tuesday Nanny - Loving, gentle & chaotic family

Fairfield, VIC | 7 km

Start Date: 01 Jul 26
Applications Close: 15 Aug 26

Posted by Laura 4 days ago

Job Details: Part-time

Hourly rate not specified

We (Laura, Marc, Henry (6y) , Rosie (4y) and Georgie (18m)) are looking for a kind, caring, gentle, loving and fun nanny to help our family out on a Tuesday each week from 7:30am - 5:30pm.

A typical day will look like:

7:30am - Arrive into chaos, but also sleepy morning hugs. Hopefully the kids are dressed and eating breakfast, but maybe not. Tag team with Laura and Marc as they go off to exercise and work. Ensure Henry is ready for school (lunchbox etc) , and the girls are dressed and ready to drop him off.

8:20am - Drive to school, drop Henry off with high fives ready for an 8:50am school start

8:50am - 3pm - Spend the day with Rosie and Georgie - Arts and crafts, baking, library visits, trips to the zoo/park, or play it by feel/mood. Georgie is still on 2 naps, Rosie can have a little bit of gentle TV in the middle of the day to give you some space to eat / help with some folding / throw some ingredients into the slow cooker for dinner or just recalibrate yourself and the house depending on the days activities.

3pm - Drive to school to pick Henry up with the girls.

4pm-5:30pm - Henry and Rosie usually play to catch up on the day, then bath the kids, and a little dinner prep would be appreciated. Laura or Marc will then be home and takeover. You may have arrived into chaos, but hopefully you leave in calm :)

About us: We like the simple things in life, we try to parent gently, we would appreciate a nanny who understands and is patient with the ever changing emotions of a developing brain, we validate emotions while also set appropriate boundaries.

In our spare time we love to go camping, gardening, baking, spending time with family and friends, exploring rock pools, exercise is a big part of the adult routines, the kids do swimming and AusKick.

Henry loves nature, arts and crafts especially drawing and adores school. Rosie loves imaginative play, dressing up and going to the library and shops, Georgie loves helping, climbing, animals and emptying out the kitchen cupboards! There is a lot of love between the siblings and only fairly minor fights, Henry and Rosie can play for hours. They love Georgie fiercely, Rosie on occasion a little too much and is very protective of her family :)

About you: We would love someone who has heaps of common sense, uses initiative, is good at cooking and baking, generous with their hugs and love, happy to get on the floor and play, while we understand the need for breathers and breaks if the kids are having some downtime, we would also love a little help with hanging out a wash load, folding some clothes etc but this is secondary to the kids care and attention.

Extra Context: I (Laura) have just got a new job and the hours, etc are still a little up in the air, there may be additional shifts available e.g. a morning or evening, and casual babysitting if there is interest. But our core requirement is a reliable Tuesday full day shift. We would like someone close-by to help with this flexibility. I may be working from home on the Tuesday, but preferably at the office. I will try to keep myself hidden as Georgie can be clingy if I am around, but she is completely fine when I'm not!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do babysitting jobs pay in Melbourne?

Babysitting jobs in Melbourne typically pay between $25 and $35 per hour, depending on the family's requirements, the details of the job, the babysitter's experience, qualifications and the number of children. Afterschool, weekend and last-minute babysitting jobs may pay higher rates. On Find A Babysitter, babysitters set their own hourly rates. Parents also advertise the rates they are offering, allowing you to apply for jobs that suit your expectations.
