I’m looking for someone to join my team as a support worker for a beautiful 10 year old boy with Norries Disease who is blind and has autism and an intellectual disability. He is supported after school 3pm-8pm, weekends and school holiday. One of his current support workers is going away later in the year and we are looking to start training someone to replace her starting end of june. Days are flexible with, tuesday s d wedensday after school available and fortnightly Sundays 3pm-8pm available. To start with we would be looking for 1-2 shifts per week with the potential to increase in the future. All training and ongoing support is provided by me so no need for prior experience but this is highly regarded. You would need to be mature, nurturing, and to have a passion for working with children and learning new skills as well as the ability to stay calm when child is dysregulated and adapt to ongoing training and feedback. Someone who is either working in or aspiring to work in behaviour support, occupational therapy, speech therapy or physio therapy would be perfect for this role as we work closely with these therapies and integrate goals into what we do with the children on a daily basis. Please note a drivers licence and access to a car is essential for the role. We are looking for someone who can make a long term commitment of at last 1 year and the role requires regular weekly work with the child to be able to work with him on the school holidays so I am not able to accept applicants who are looking for temporary or solely school holiday work. We are a busy family with four young boys who need help on an Thursday. Our amazing Nanny of 2 years has had a change to her university hours and we are now looking for someone to take over her Thursday work. Currently she arrive at our house at midday, folds and puts away laundry, cooks dinner and does some general tidying or household errands. She then either picks the kids up from school if they are to be taken to sports or waits for them to get home on the bus and looks after them until I get home (between 5.30 and 7pm). If she is there later she will give the kids dinner. There is some variable driving depending on afterschool activities as well as helping with readers and homework. We are looking for someone who is happy to do this as an ongoing part time job. We are away at times during school holidays but often there is even more work available on the holidays as the kids are off school. We would like someone who is reliable and trustworthy and we would like references and to meet for interview prior to offering the position. We would like someone who is firm with the kids but also knows how to engage and have fun with them. Our youngest is 6 and our oldest 12yo.

They are definitely full of fun energy so someone who enjoys to get out to a playground or somewhere fun with them but also interact with them at the house and keep them happy.
