Hi there, My name is Jess, and I am 34 years old. I have worked with children for the past 16 years in a range of different environments. For the last few years I have been working as a nanny, looking after children from as young as 2 weeks up to 15 years of age. Up until November 2015, I managed before and after school care programs; with numbers of children ranging from 5 children up to 45 children at a time with a ratio of 1 adult to 15 children. I found that I was lacking the connection with the children particularly in the larger settings as my role was more of a supervisor rather than a friend/role model to the children so I’m hoping to gain that through a nannying/babysitting role. I have my Senior First Aid & CPR Certificate, Working with Children Check, Food Handlers Certificates, clean driver’s licence and my own reliable car. I have previously completed anaphylaxis/allergy training, as well as asthma training, and feel that I am competent in each element. I also have experience looking after children with autism (severe and mild), angelman syndrome, global delay, Down Syndrome, epilepsy and anaphylaxis/severe allergies etc. I have experience as a Support Worker too. I have experience looking after very young babies (as young as two days old), multiples and many young children at a time.
