I am a first-year Nursing student at Griffith University and have a passion for improving the lives of others and making someone’s day better! I am a quite active individual and I love to play sports, draw, and cook. Additionally, I enjoy cleaning and spending time with kids. I personally have a 3-year-old nephew who I absolutely adore and love taking care of. I often read books with him, play soccer with him and prepare his meals for him. I've also had previous experience (five years) in hospitality, working as an all rounder and often acting as a team leader and managing people. I am a mother of twin 32 young women, I raised them by myself. They have spread their wings and are no longer living with me. I very much miss being an "active mum", 33 years olds like to make their own way in the world. I very much enjoy spending time with young people and watching them grow.I am more than happy to support the parents with the way they discipline & set routines.I think open and honest communication is the only way to go. I have worked with many families & loads of children of all different ages & needs. One particular family i have worked with for 8yrs. Starting when he was just 11months. I treat each child as individuals & love to play & support where they are on their adventure. Keeping light & breezy but still have strong boundaries. I also worked for many years as a support and advocacy worker in the disability field. Both physical and mental health . This was a very challenging role which required lots of patience, caring and understanding, this has also carried over to my care of children. I can be very flexible and know the challenges of parenting and working. I dont mind doing light housework, picking up after or with the young person.
