Meet Andrea: A nanny and babysitter in Mitchelton, QLD

For the last 3 years I have worked in childcare looking after children from babies through to kindy. Previously I spent 12 years working in a primary school as a learning support officer. I have supported children with autism spectrum disorder, hearing and speech impairment, developmental delay, ADHD, social emotional difficulties and developmental delays. I hold a Cert III in Educational Support and have currently finished my theory for Cert III Individual Support Ageing and Disability and will complete my practical hours in October. Throughout my career I have developed a reputation for being approachable and calming. Children often seek me out when they are upset or need help to regulate their emotions. I am a compassionate, reliable and committed to providing the best care possible. I am adaptable and patient, and I respond calmly and positively to a wide range of needs and situations. I have raised 2 boys of my own who are now in their early 20’s so I understand how important it is finding a trustworthy person that can adapt and follow your family’s routine. I am a energetic person who loves running, cooking, reading, arts and crafts, camping, travelling to remote parts of Australia and spending time with my family.
