Hello!
We'd love to meet a babysitter for casual babysitting on Friday mornings for about 3 hours each week.
👩🎨 About the role:
We have a clever and quirky 3.5 year old!
The role will be about 3 hours per week on a Friday. We're hoping this can be an ongoing role, but we tend to decide week-to-week if the babysitting day is needed, so we have listed it as casual. The shift is a three hour shift on Friday mornings (9:30AM - 12:30PM tends to work). We work from home, so generally one or both of us will be home during the shift - but in a different area of the house.
📝 About you:
We are looking for someone who has experience working with children of a similar age. You have an interest in teaching young ones about life! We're looking to meet someone who is attentive, nurturing, patient, fun, caring, gentle and calm. We're looking to meet someone who has the energy to keep his developing mind busy (he's go go go!) He is sensitive and responds well to calm play (not too loud or intense).
He's just started kinder (first time being away from his folks), so he's been particularly sensitive lately - we are hoping to meet someone who has experience with 3 year olds and knows how to manage the occasional tanty and can help him with his general independence as he enters into this new chapter.
👦 About the client:
Our 3.5 year old is a beautiful, quirky, clever and loves (LOVES) to chat! He loves when he is engaging with his favourite games and conversations - vehicles, numbers, learning new words and languages, maths, arts and crafts, reading, puzzles, books, quizzes, singing and imaginary play with his toys. He's a busy boy!
He is potty trained but still needs occasional assistance/reminding! A very, very selective eater but in this short shift (3 hours) we'll just provide his favourite snacks. A huge bonus if you've had experience with selective eaters (but not necessary). He's an avid learner and is happiest when he's learning or experimenting with something new.
👫About the parents:
We are both freelancers who work in music and the arts. We are openminded and we value honesty, humour, nature, kindness, empathy and compassion. We want to ensure the babysitters we work with feel supported and valued in their role!
I used to be a babysitter/nanny myself and met most of my babysitting clients on this website. I made so many amazing, longstanding connections with the families of the kids who are all grown up now and I still keep in touch with them and visit them 15-20 years later! Babysitting taught me so much that I am now applying as a new Mamma.
We are looking forward to hearing from you. We will generally organise a phone call first, then a one hour trial period (to make sure it's the right fit for everyone).
Thanks,
Charlotte & family
