About FlorianĂłpolis
Known as the âIlha da Magiaâ (Island of Magic), FlorianĂłpolis is the capital of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil. The island has more than 40 beaches, from calm turquoise bays to world-class surf spots. Youâll also find lagoons, sand dunes, Atlantic Forest trails, and charming fishing villages with Azorean heritage.
It consistently ranks among Brazilâs cities with the highest quality of life. It is safe by Brazilian standards and has a thriving international community of digital nomads, surfers, and expats. The food scene is fantastic, especially the oysters, which are among the best in the country. From June to November, southern right whales visit the coast.

Brazil is warm, joyful, and full of life, with music, festivals, football, and a culture built around connection and hospitality. Youâll become fluent in Portuguese, form lasting friendships, and see the world, and yourself, through a new lens.
