Hi there, I have been babysitting children aged 9 months - 14 years for 4 years and have worked at an Outside School Hours Care and as a Teacher Aide for 6 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and am currently studying Social Work.
I am calm, reliable, and a hard worker! My Psychology background and work experience have equipped me with the skill of communicating with children about their needs, emotions, and behaviour. I have a natural ability to attune to children's emotional states and respond sensitively to their needs, which helps them regulate their emotions. I have extensive experience with bright, strong willed, and slow-to-warm-up children and adjusts my approach that is best suited for your child. I have a child led approach and believe in the importance of meeting your child at their level.
I have worked in multiple roles where housekeeping is part of the job. This includes loading/unpacking the dishwasher, helping out with the laundry and folding, ironing, tidying up the children's play area, and preparing meals for the family. I also have experience with cleaning and organising - wardrobe, pantry, fridges, etc
I worked at a school Canteen for 2 years and understand the importance of good hygiene and safe food handling practices. I am able to cater to any dietary requirements (low sugar, gluten free, vegetarian). I would be happy to follow your recipes, especially in the earlier stages while I learn what your family likes and dislikes. I also like to look up new recipes online, although not all of them are a success - my first almond flour pancakes tasted like sweet eggs! 😂
What I love most about nannying is forming genuine, long term relationships with families and supporting children to be compassionate and resilient individuals.
