Meet Téa: A nanny and babysitter in Coburg, VIC

Hi lovely parents! My name is Téa and I am looking for work, either part time or casual. My time with a family I worked with for 1 1/2 years is slowing down drastically in the new year as their baby boy will be attending childcare. Ideally, any parents reaching out need someone to babysit/child mind on a regular basis or to help in regards to an upcoming event.

Background:

I am in my third year of uni, studying a bachelor of arts at the University of Melbourne. I major in psychology, and hope to one day work as an animal assisted therapist for children.

Availability:

I am available to work most days and most times as shown in the chart. However my availability does fluctuate (I will happily convey any changes with you) as I work as a chess coach in schools and work with 3 lovely families. One that requires casual babysitting once every month or so after hours. A second that requires weekly help on Tuesdays from 3pm till 6:30pm. And the third required before school help from Monday through to Friday from 7:30am till 11am but will soon only require casual help for event nights.

Rate:

My rate is $40 per hour, but I charge an extra $10 per hour (ie. $50 per hour) if you are wanting me to stay past midnight or work on a public holiday.

Experience and Qualifications:

As I’ve mentioned, I am currently working with three families. One where I look after two young boys aged 10 and 13, another where I look after a 7 yearold girl and 14 month old baby boy, and the third family has two boys aged 4 and 6. However, my experience working with children is much more vast.

One of my hobbies growing up was playing chess, and I have fortunately been able to make a job out of it by tutoring primary and secondary school students. I have worked solo with classes of 3 to 20+ students at a time, and in team settings with 400 kids under my care. This means that I have gained a deep understanding as how to work with children who have learning difficulties and behavioural challenges. My work also requires me to have an employee wwcc and first aid certificate in an education and care setting. Upon request I am happy to share these with you.

I have my license and can take kids to and from school/sport or any other activities. If I had your permission, I would love to take them to the zoo, park, bowling, etc to keep them entertained and happy.
