My time with a family I worked with for 1 1/2 years is slowing down drastically in the new year as their baby boy will be attending childcare. Ideally, any parents reaching out need someone to babysit/child mind on a regular basis or to help in regards to an upcoming event. Background: I am in my third year of uni, studying a bachelor of arts at the University of Melbourne. I major in psychology, and hope to one day work as an animal assisted therapist for children. Availability: I am available to work most days and most times as shown in the chart. However my availability does fluctuate (I will happily convey any changes with you) as I work as a chess coach in schools and work with 3 lovely families. One that requires casual babysitting once every month or so after hours. A second that requires weekly help on Tuesdays from 3pm till 6:30pm. And the third required before school help from Monday through to Friday from 7:30am till 11am but will soon only require casual help for event nights. Rate: My rate is $40 per hour, but I charge an extra $10 per hour (ie. $50 per hour) if you are wanting me to stay past midnight or work on a public holiday. Services: 1. Babysitting/child minding 2. One of my hobbies growing up was playing chess, and I have fortunately been able to make a job out of it by tutoring primary and secondary school students. I have worked solo with classes of 3 to 20+ students at a time, and in team settings with 400 kids under my care. This means that I have gained a deep understanding as how to work with children who have learning difficulties and behavioural challenges.
