Meet charli: A nanny and babysitter in Malvern East, VIC

I completed Year 12 in 2023 and am currently studying a Bachelor of Education, as I have always had a passion for working with children and being part of their learning and development. Alongside my studies, I work as a Learning Assistant at Caulfield Grammar School (CGS), where I get to support students with their learning, confidence and everyday experiences at school. I absolutely love being able to build relationships with the students and help create an environment where they feel happy, comfortable and supported. I have experience caring for children from as young as 1 month old through to 15 years old, so I am comfortable working with a wide range of ages and personalities. I really enjoy getting to know each child and learning about their individual interests, routines and needs. Whether it’s playing games, doing arts and crafts, spending time outside, helping with homework, preparing simple meals or just having a chat, I always try to make sure children feel safe, included and have fun while they are in my care. I would describe myself as a caring, friendly, patient and reliable person. I understand how important it is for parents to feel comfortable and confident with the person looking after their children, so I always aim to be someone both children and parents can trust and rely on. My studies in education and my experience working in a school have also given me a greater understanding of how children learn, communicate and develop at different ages. Outside of work and university, I love spending time with my friends and family, playing sports, being outdoors and keeping active. I am a very social and positive person and love bringing that energy into the time I spend with children. I genuinely enjoy working with kids and love seeing their different personalities come out as I get to know them. I am always excited to meet new families, build positive relationships and hopefully become someone their children look forward to spending time with!
