Meet Amber: A nanny and babysitter in Thornbury, VIC

Hi, I’m Amber! Originally from Cornwall, UK, I’ve been living in Melbourne since 2022 with my partner.

I am looking for casual babysitting or regular Friday nannying, as I miss the creativity and fun that comes from spending time with little ones.

I started babysitting at 14 (for neighbours, family friends, my parent's colleagues) - probably a bit young in retrospect, but 'twas the done thing of the 2010's! - and have cared for children of all ages since.

Many moons ago, when I was 19, I worked full time as a live-in Au Pair for an 18 month and 3-year-old in Albert Park, Melbourne, and was a babysitter for a lot of other parents in the area. During this time:

🌻I was responsible for taking the kids to kinder, day care, and playgroups

🌻Constantly on the lookout for fun, educational and exciting activities in Albert Park and beyond!

🌻Kept the house clean and tidy

🌻Made dinners for the whole family, breakfast and lunches for the kids

🌻Managed the washing machine and ironing board

🌻Helped the parents with other ad-hoc duties

I also regularly minded my brother’s kids from birth (until I moved to Aus).

I have a valid Working With Children Check and police check. I'm creative, fun, and love engaging kids in imaginative play. I am always keen to be outdoors or chilling at home with games, baking, or crafts. My empathetic and caring nature helps children feel safe, understood, and supported. I’d love to be a trusted helper for your family!

I am 30, work part-time for an ACCO, and am training to become a certified yoga instructor. I am available on evenings, all day Fridays, and am open to weekend work. My rate is negotiable for longer hours.
