Hi, my name is Kate. I am from a small country town called Shackleton and I attended boarding school in Perth from Year 8 onwards. Growing up in a small town, and with two younger siblings, helped me engage with many different age groups, so naturally I grew fond of taking care of younger children and helping out other families whenever I could. Going to boarding school, I was mentored by older years and when I entered the older years, I became the mentor. I created many strong bonds with the younger year groups and feel as though I was a sister figure to them throughout my journey. I am studying primary education at university and hold a swim teaching license, as well.

1. Baby sitting primary school aged children. I occasionally also supervised high school age children.
2. Running sports classes.
The kids were aged from 6 months to 6 years (depending on the class). There was usually up to 20 kids and one other coach, so I’m used to being very outnumbered.
3. Running holiday programs.
The kids were usually 3-6 years old, and the classes went for 4 hours. I’ve learnt multiple games and tactics to keep the children engaged and entertained.
4. Coaching primary and high school aged children in netball.
I’ve done this for the last six years and absolutely loved it. Watching the team develop and improve was always so rewarding.
5. Assigned baby sitter at any family gathering. I think as soon as I could walk I was wanting to hold the babies and thinking they were so adorable.
