Looking for any weekend nanny opportunities or evening babysitting 5pm onwards Mon-Fri. I am enthusiastic, energetic and very keen to eventually pursue youth work at some point in my career. Having returned from working with children in Canada, I find it rewarding and meaningful and am looking for available childcare opportunities alongside my current full time position as a graduate in risk advisory. I am 24 years old and gained considerable childcare experience from a gap year placement working overseas in England in a boarding house caring for 18 ten year old boys. I am the eldest of 10 cousins and have been looking after babies and young children since I was 12 as well as doing various babysitting jobs for local families over the years. Most recently, I returned from Canada where I was working in a role with X Movement. We worked across primary schools in the greater Toronto area facilitating in-school extra curricular programs with an emphasis on mental wellbeing through mindfulness, movement and mateship. I have completed a significant amount of community service working in a after school care in Beecroft and have qualifications from lifesaving Australia as well as my first aid certificate. I also coached a young netball team for 2 years in 2013/2014. I feel confident working with children of all ages and have a substantial amount of flexibility in the evenings as I am currently working from home.

Looking for: Full-time,Part-time,Casual Babysitting,Au Pair

My name is Fabiola Meza. I am an Australian Citizen, I have lived in Sydney most of my life and intend spending the rest of my life in Sydney. I have a current Working with Children Check. I have a current First Aid Certificate. I do not drive. I have a University of Sydney Bachelor of Arts (Honours in Education) degree with a triple major: Psychology/Education/Mathematics (my favourite subject being Developmental Psychology). I have extensive experience as a nanny, babysitter and tutor and have always enjoyed these roles. I have loved and been fascinated by children ever since I can remember. Since I was 15, I have provided both paid and non-paid childcare: I have a natural aptitude for facilitating children's learning in a fun way. I love caring for babies; it is a privilege to be there when they are learning so much: the world we tend to take for granted is so brand new to them …. I delight in the "purity" of children and their behaviour. And when their behaviour is ah… beyond the pale, I take deep breaths and somehow tend to keep my cool! I believe that respecting and listening to children is of utmost importance. I am a good communicator, mature, trustworthy, honest, reliable, nurturing, compassionate, loving, patient, friendly, kind, humorous, easygoing, active, energetic, and creative. I care very much for nature and the environment and enjoy a healthy life style (e.g. I do not smoke). I put my all into the babies, toddlers and children under my care. I positively impact their lives: being a good role model, seizing the opportunities that present themselves to further their development and education, having fun with them, and being there for them as they face life's challenges. I also provide solid support for the parents. So, if you need a nanny, babysitter or tutor who absolutely loves interacting with babies (including newborns), toddlers and children, here I am!!!

Nanny with 18+ years experience passionate about working with the development and education of children. I have extensive experience with newborns, toddlers, children's up to age 10, multiples, nanny share, and disabilities.
Happy to keep log book for infant feeding, sleep, play, nappy change, and so on. Common questions parents ask their nannies during interviews: 1.) What inspired you to choose to work with young children? I was 18 and working in hospitality and not enjoying it. I watched an episode of Kids Say the Darnedest Things and said “every day working with kids would be one hilarious day after the next” The next week I land a job at a daycare center working with the 3 year olds and I was right, everyday those kids would make me laugh out loud. But what has kept me in childcare is feeling that my job is directly nurturing the future of this world. 2.) What are you the most passionate about with your work? Education and physical development. I have a very good eye on how the physical body is developing and I’m very passionate about preventing physical problems by aiding the body to be used correctly when learning crawling, walking, etcetera. Education through play, where it does not feel like learning, is very important to me. A child feeling smart is the first step in them being smart. 3.) Which activities do you feel are important in a child's development during the early learning years? Interaction and repetition. Any games or activities interacting with others is key. Reading, singing, play time that incorporates multiple senses and movement like, paint, play-duh, sand and so on. For the under 1 year old, lots and lots of touch, singing, and exploring the outdoors. 4. Describe the most stressful situation you have been in when caring for children? Conflict with parents is always the most stressful part of childcare. Parents using positive reinforcement on negative behaviors ie: I make dinner for the children/ child, explaining this is what is for dinner, its ok if you don’t want it but that’s all there is for now. And then a parent coming in and giving the child a cookie. Telling a child he or she can do the next activity after they help tidy up but the parent comes in a gives them a new toy while there are 3 puzzles thrown across the floor. Explain the strategies you used to manage the issue. Communicating with the parent, explaining the situation with them and asking for their help to be able to do my job well. If you like my answers and you’d like to chat feel free to give me a call I look forward to talking to you about how I can best care for the needs of your family! Please provide email address and I will send you through my cv with a more detailed outline of my experiences.

Hi There! I am currently a 4th year student studying a Masters of Chiropractic at Macquarie University in Sydney! I have had a range of baby sitting experience, with ages ranging from <1-15 years of age. In addition to this, coming from a big family has meant I have always been surrounded by children of all ages. Constantly having young ones around to entertain and look-after has lead to the confidence I now have in supervising children in a way that they are made to feel comfortable and safe! I have experience working with autistic children also. Furthermore, I am trained in first aid & CPR. I am a reliable, mature and capable individual who would be happy to assist is anyway possible. I understand the trust a parent would be placing in me to look after their child and thus can ensure my optimal attention and care be given to the child/ren at all times :)
