I am a 25 year old writer from Sydney, currently living in Elizabeth Bay. I currently casually babysit for some local families, and am open to part time regularly nannying work. I really enjoy spending time with kids and am a very patient and outgoing person! I am comfortable with doing some household chores such as cleaning and cooking, and am open to walking pets if needed. I have experience in tutoring students from kindergarten to Year 10 so am more than able to help with homework.
My name is Jamairah and I’m 23 years old. I recently moved to Australia from the United States 🇺🇸
I have 8 years of childcare experience, which includes working in a daycare, church nursery, at summer camps, and I independently babysit children on occasion. The ages I watch range from 6 months to 13 years old. I also have experience with watching multiple children.
I have worked with children for many years and find them a joy to be around. I believe the most important part of being a nanny is keeping the children safe and secure. Making sure they thrive in a loving and caring environment. Being someone they can count on to be there for them and to teach and help them grow; not only intellectually but also emotionally.
I’m CPR and First Aid certified for infants and adults. I am also covid vaccinated, boosted and up to date with all of my vaccines.
I am happy to provide services such as meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, homework help, etc. I play the guitar and can draw/paint and would be glad to give lessons as well

Common questions parents ask their nannies during interviews:
1.) What inspired you to choose to work with young children?
I was 18 and working in hospitality and not enjoying it. I watched an episode of Kids Say the Darnedest Things and said “every day working with kids would be one hilarious day after the next” The next week I landed a job at a daycare center working with the 3 year olds and I was right, everyday those kids would make me laugh out loud. But what has kept me in childcare is feeling that my job is directly nurturing the future of this world.
2.) What are you the most passionate about with your work?
Education and physical development. I have a very good eye on how the physical body is developing and I’m very passionate about preventing physical problems by aiding the body to be used correctly when learning crawling, walking, etcetera. Education through play, where it does not feel like learning, is very important to me. A child feeling smart is the first step in them being smart.
3.) Which activities do you feel are important in a child's development during the early learning years?
Interaction and repetition. Any games or activities interacting with others is key. Reading, singing, play time that incorporates multiple senses and movement like, paint, play-duh, sand and so on. For the under 1 year old, lots and lots of touch, singing, and exploring the outdoors.
4. Describe the most stressful situation you have been in when caring for children? Conflict with parents is always the most stressful part of childcare. Parents using positive reinforcement on negative behaviors ie: I make dinner for the children/ child, explaining this is what is for dinner, its ok if you don’t want it but that’s all there is for now. And then a parent coming in and giving the child a cookie. Telling a child he or she can do the next activity after they help tidy up but the parent comes in a gives them a new toy while there are 3 puzzles thrown across the floor.
Explain the strategies you used to manage the issue.
Communicating with the parent, explaining the situation with them and asking for their help to be able to do my job well.
If you like my answers and you’d like to chat feel free to give me a call
I look forward to talking to you about how I can best care for the needs of your family! Please provide email address and I will send you through my cv with a more detailed outline of my experiences.

Having babysat for families and friends in Newcastle since I was 15, I have extensive experience as a babysitter and have proved myself to be a friendly, down to earth and reliable babysitter. Being the eldest of four and having many younger cousins whom I love spending time with, I have an extremely bubbly personality which enables me to easily build relationships with those around me. Also having had au-pairs for seven years of my childhood to assist my parents at home, I recognise the influential role a nanny plays in a child's life and the life-long impact they can have on a family.
I am a passionate and determined individual, who is enthusiastic about working. At school, I have been consistently recognised for my diligence and persistence, as reflected in an "Effort in Schoolwork" award at the Newcastle Grammar School (NGS) Speech Night in 2021.
I strongly believe I would be the perfect fit to your family and would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss my application.
Looking for any weekend nanny opportunities or evening babysitting 5pm onwards Mon-Fri. I am enthusiastic, energetic and very keen to eventually pursue youth work at some point in my career. Having returned from working with children in Canada, I find it rewarding and meaningful and am looking for available childcare opportunities alongside my current full time position. I am 25 years old and gained considerable childcare experience from a gap year placement working overseas in England in a boarding house caring for 18 ten year old boys. I am the eldest of 10 cousins and have been looking after babies and young children since I was 12 as well as doing various babysitting jobs for local families over the years. Most recently, I returned from Canada where I was working in a role with X Movement. We worked across primary schools in the greater Toronto area facilitating in-school extra curricular programs with an emphasis on mental wellbeing through mindfulness, movement and mateship. I have completed a significant amount of community service working in a after school care in Beecroft and have qualifications from lifesaving Australia as well as my first aid certificate. I also coached a young netball team for 2 years in 2013/2014. I feel confident working with children of all ages and have a substantial amount of flexibility in the evenings as I am currently working from home.
