Hi Nannies!
We’re on the hunt for a new Mary Poppins to join our family and care for our three adorable little characters. Sadly, our much-loved nanny has had to leave due to a family emergency — so we’re hoping to find someone just as special.
A bit about us:
• Location: McKinnon/Bentleigh/Ormond (3204)
• Hours: Mostly between 9:30am–4:30/5pm, Monday to Friday
• No weekend, public holiday, or after-hours work
• Three little ones:
- Almost 5yo girl (at kinder 2 days a week – Mon & Wed, starting school next year)
- 3yo girl (starting kinder next year)
- 20-month-old boy (easy-going toddler with a big smile and growing into his own adorable personality)
We think they’re hilarious and delightful little monsters — you’ve been warned!
Our vibe:
The kids are creative, curious and full of energy. They love:
• Arts and crafts, painting, pay dough, dress-ups
• Roleplaying mums & dads, café, etc.
• Parks, playgrounds, pram walks, bike rides, scooting, picnics, collecting leaves and sticks (which stay outside!)
• Puzzles, games, music, dancing and sensory play
• Cars, blocks, magnetic tiles, footy or throwing a ball and dancing!
• We’ve also got two friendly, fluff balls who are part of the family — they’ll want pats too!
Dad works full-time mostly in the office, and I (Mum) mostly work from home — I’ll be around but busy working, available to check in or help when needed.
What we’re looking for in our dream nanny is:
• Not responding to this with an AI generated response (we can tell)
• Warm, fun, patient, and genuinely loves spending time with little ones. Be engaging enough to get the kids comfortable pretty quickly.
• Experienced with multiple children at once
• Experienced with girls e.g. can do girls’ hair, can play pretend makeup, draw, be creative with crafts, etc.
• Professional, punctual, organised, clean, responsible and easy-going (I’m quite OCD with toys being put away in their place and things cleaned properly)
• Confident in the kitchen for preparing kids’ meals/snacks (at a minimum you can scramble eggs, make omelettes, French toast, if not, I’ll be teaching you)
• Able to work around naps (2 kids still nap consistently in the middle of the day)
• Proactive with light household help: e.g., folding laundry, tidying kids’ spaces, unpacking groceries
• Engaged and educational – helping our older two with early literacy, counting, days of the week, etc. and our little one with learning words (no TV plonking)
• Active and hands-on — walks, babycino outings, playgrounds, books, crafts, cubby house builds, etc.
• Skilled with bathtime routines: drying hair, moisturising, managing post-bath chaos!
• Comfortable around friendly dogs
Must-haves:
• WWCC
• Police Check
• First Aid (current)
• Driver’s licence & reliable transport (comfortable driving a larger car to kinder/swimming/etc.)
• Willingness to care for sick kids from time to time
• Generally be awesome with them/don’t turn out to be a psycho kidnapper.
Rate:
Rate is negotiable based on experience. We've been through a few nannies and can now definitely tell when someone clicks with our family.
If you’ve made it this far and found yourself nodding along — we’d love to hear from you!
Please comment with your age, experience, and expected rate, and we’ll be in touch with suitable candidates for next steps.
Looking forward to finding our next superstar!
