Looking for: Casual Babysitting

Hello! My name is Lucy. During the day, I'm a secondary school teacher/course coordinator at a private school in Canberra. On weekends and some weeknights I enjoy babysitting! I love nothing more than caring for babies, playing with them, putting them to sleep, taking them on adventures, exploring nature, and taking them through their sleep, eating, and hygiene routines. I grew up supporting my own mum when she had twins, to then babysitting her friends babies, and now my own friends and their babies. For the last year an a half, I've been working closely with two families supporting them when I have time away from teaching (weekends, school holidays, and some week nights). With one of these families, we have been doing elimination communication from the time the child was two months old, so I can help continue with the support of this and any potty training endeavours you may have. I am open to, and supportive of all styles of parenting and will always endeavour to fit myself to your styles, practices, routines and traditions. In addition to this, I know that encouraging family culture and faith can be very important to families, and I am open to learning about and supporting your families own culture and faith when engaging with your children. As a currently employed teacher, I am up to date with first aid for adults, children and infants, and have a current working with children check in both ACT and NSW. I have also completed training for anaphylaxis and use of epipens, mental health, child safety, mandatory reporting for child safety. I am open to discussing rates. They are set based on my experience, training, and qualifications.

Hi, I’m Sara! I’m currently a year 12 student graduating in Nov, and then commencing a bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education at UC next year. I’ve been a gymnastics coach for the last 3 years, where I am responsible for 6-10 children aged 4-12 years old. At this club, I’ve learnt how to interact and work with many different children, so would love to further develop my experience. I have volunteered at a local childcare for the last 1.5 years (during my school holidays), mostly working with children aged 5 weeks to 2 years. This has allowed me to learn further about children’s needs, and how to provide an enriching environment for them. I currently have a Working with Vulnerable People’s card, and am First Aid qualified. These accreditations are kept up to date to ensure that those I work with are safe. I am an athlete, so due to sporting commitments, I may be unavailable during some afternoons. I am FULLY UNAVAILABLE until the 18th November 2025. However, I have updated my availability for what it will be like after the 18th, and am already taking bookings for this next period. If you have any questions or would like to book, feel free to reach out! (I typically only take bookings from those living in North/Central Canberra. For casual bookings, I include a travel fee of $5 per booking for those living 10km+ away from my suburb)
