IN-HOME EDUCATOR – OLINDA
$35–$40 per hour | Ongoing role
We are a friendly family in Olinda looking for a warm, reliable and engaging educator to become a valued part of our children’s week.
About our family
We have two lovely children:
• Lacey (9 years old)
• Spencer (5 years old, attending kindergarten)
( and A dog and an elderly cat)
Both children are neurodivergent and thrive with connection, consistency and predictable routines. They are kind, funny, affectionate kids who enjoy spending time with adults who are patient, flexible and genuinely interested in them. They are not hard kids.
The role
We are looking for someone who can become a consistent and trusted part of our children’s week.
Responsibilities include:
• Kindergarten and school pick-ups
• Transporting and supporting Spencer at his exercise class and prep readiness class
• Supporting after-school routine
• Preparing simple snacks and meals
• Reading homework reader with Lacey
• Engaging in play, conversation and age-appropriate activities.
A driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are essential. Car seat will be provided where required.
Hours
Wednesday:
• Approximately 8:00am–4:00pm/5:00pm
Tuesday:
• 2:45pm–4:45pm one week
• 2:45pm–6:45pm the alternate week
We are happy to hear from applicants who can cover both days or only one of the available days.
The shorter Tuesday shift may be extended for the right candidate if a longer minimum shift is preferred.
About you
To meet In Home Care requirements, applicants must:
• Hold a Certificate III, Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education, OR
OR Be actively studying towards one of these qualifications.
Employment arrangement
The successful applicant will subcontract through our existing In Home Care provider. This is a straightforward arrangement and we are happy to assist the right person in understanding the process, including obtaining an ABN if required.
Pay
$35–$40 per hour depending on qualifications, experience and suitability.
