Meet jessica: A nanny and babysitter in Booragoon, WA

I am an experienced Diploma qualified educator and Childcare Centre Manager with over 6 years' experience, I am bilingual Italian - English. I have past experience as nanny which made choose to return to private care environment and offer a professional service to the families.

Mygoals:

-Relationships with families and children-

>Develop a safe relationship with children to let them feel safe to express their thoughts, talk about their experiences and be themselves.

Develop a trusting relationship with families through open communication.

Being present listening, observing, understanding and addressing their needs at all times

-Screen Free-

>Children, naturally, have great imagination and they are great problem solver, however sometime screens keep them busy enough to the point that they lose contact with the rest of the world.

While in my care children won't be exposed to screen time.

-Routine-

>Eating and sleeping routines empower children's ability to connect with the world more positively as it levels their energy,

Main activities routine gives them the ability to predict what comes next and makes them feel in control of their day, therefore I enjoy explaining to the children what's the plan for the day for both of us.

-Holistic learning approach

>Learning doesn't necessarily mean sitting at the table retaining notions or undertake several planned activities.

Children learn through interaction with others, interaction with the environment, and trial and error.

I believe that any opportunity is a great opportunity for children to learn skills and work towards milestones as long as they are spontaneously engaged, this is the reason why, in my opinion, it is important to encourage them to explore different aspects of their surroundings.

-My teaching strategy-

>I observe what the children's current interests and abilities are.

Through my knowledge of children's developmental stages, I manage to include notions during completely spontaneous activities with the intent of helping them move toward the next milestone while having fun.
