Meet Amelia: A nanny and babysitter in Melbourne, VIC

Hello I'm Amelia, I'm 23 and currently completing my psychology degree with the intention to complete post-graduate studies in developmental and child psychology. I love working with kids and have been a baby sitter for over 5 years working with children of all ages. Most recently, I lived with a family in the Cook Islands for three months helping to take care of their 4 beautiful boys (ages ranged from 6 months old to 5 years old). I have worked extensively with older children as well, having done ongoing regular and casual babysitting for families over the last few years with children between 5 and 14. These roles involved school drop offs, pick ups, making breakfasts, lunches and dinners, driving the family cars when needed, the bedtime routine and cleaning the house while the children were asleep. I also have lots of previous experience volunteering and running school holiday programs for children from 6-12, so am comfortable working with larger groups of children in school/activity contexts if this is ever needed. I am a very creative and energetic person, I love music, art, performance, boardgames as well as anything active and outdoors. I place a lot of importance on presence and inclusion. When I am spending time with young people it is always my priority to ensure they are safe, engaged, having a fabulous time and have my undivided attention. I am patient, sensitive and a great communicator.
