Meet Imogen: A nanny and babysitter in Ormond, VIC

Hi! My name is Imogen, and I am a third-year Education student at Monash University with a passion for education and experience working with children in both teaching and babysitting roles.

I hail from South Australia, where I attended a leading IB secondary school and first discovered my love of sharing knowledge through a volunteering program at a local primary school. Since then, I have gained experience across a variety of educational settings, including teaching placements at Melbourne Girls Grammar School (secondary) and Haileybury (primary), as well as after-school care and teacher aide roles at The Hills Montessori School in South Australia.

Alongside my education experience, I have worked with a number of families in babysitting roles. This has included caring for children before and after school, during school holidays, and for late nights and overnight stays. My responsibilities have included picking children up from daycare and school, preparing healthy snacks and school lunches, supervising homework and tutoring, and planning and participating in fun, age-appropriate activities away from screens.

I love getting creative with activities and making the most of the time spent together. Full-day activities I have enjoyed with children include trips to museums and botanic gardens, while after-school activities have included visits to the playground, swimming, walking family pets, playing board games, and plenty of imaginative play.

Outside of university and work, I enjoy art, spending time with friends and family, and camping. I also have a love of travel, and my experiences travelling throughout Thailand, China, Nepal and Europe have given me an appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.

I believe my combination of babysitting experience and university education has given me the skills, patience and enthusiasm to be a great addition to your family’s support network. Whether it’s helping with homework, keeping children entertained, or simply making their afternoon a little more fun, I hope to create an environment where your children feel comfortable, supported and engaged - with plenty of learning and laughs along the way!
