Meet Sophia: A nanny and au pair in Bondi, NSW

I am a friendly and nurturing person who has thoroughly enjoyed working with children while at a local nursery and as a nanny. I have 13 months experience working as a nanny, having started working September 2024 with an 18 month old little girl. Additionally, prior to nannying, I gained 17 months experience working in a nursery setting with children aged between 3 months and 5 years old. I predominantly worked in the toddler room (aged 2-3 years), with key children whose learning and development I was responsible for monitoring, tracking and enhancing. This taught me the child development milestones to look out for and work towards, and fun activities which are beneficial to their learning and development. I believe learning through play is the best way for children to be engaged with what they are learning and have some autonomy over how and what they learn. I have a working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and theories of learning used in England, which enables me to give children a stimulating and caring environment in which their holistic development can flourish.

I also have previous experience working with and teaching children through being a cheerleading coach of children aged 7 to 16 years.

I am known to be punctual, organised, friendly and reliable. My patient and caring personality is perfectly suited to a career working with children.

I currently work in the police in England, so I have been police vetted and hold an enhanced DBS check. I will be arriving in Sydney in January 2027, and I am looking for work around Bondi and surrounding areas ideally.
