Meet Lucia: A nanny, babysitter, and au pair in Sydney, NSW

I'm in Australia on the Working Holiday Visa and currently staying in Sydney until the beginning of January.

During my studies, I worked as a babysitter, which gave me lots of experience with children of different ages. After my Bachelor’s, I spent more than two years working at a shelter for refugees. After that, I wanted to grow further and broaden my experience, so I worked in a crisis center for teenagers aged 12 to 18 for half a year, where we supported them 24/7. In both jobs I've learned a lot about different human beings and cultures, trauma-sensitive work, and also a lot about myself as I was constantly confronted with others, which made self-reflection very important.

I’m a very positive and cheerful person who always tries to make the best out of every situation. Respect, kindness and empathy are values that I really care about and also look for in others.
