Meet Lydia: A nanny and babysitter in Marrickville, NSW

I'm a postgraduate student and freshly-redundant journalist looking for some nannying work while I finish the final semester of my studies. I have more than 3 years of childcare experience, having worked with 18 month-12 year olds in full and part time capacities. For almost two years, I looked after a toddler for 30 hours a week and really became enmeshed with the family. It's been incredible watching him grow from a two year old into an opinionated, kind and funny five year old, and I'm currently doing daycare pick ups every Tuesday and Wednesday.

I'm a firm believer in compassion, humour, empathy, and bodily autonomy when it comes to childcare. Kids are just learning to navigate the world around them and it's my job to help. I love animals, books, craft, and music, and especially love sharing those things with the kids I'm looking after- I take your child's musical education very seriously. I'll never turn down a trip to the park, museum, or zoo, and I'm always there to help navigate homework.
