Meet Gryffin: A nanny and babysitter in Northcote, VIC

Hey, I’m Gryffin! 😊

I’m a caring, reliable and experienced early childhood educator looking for some babysitting work as I start my studies towards becoming a paediatric occupational therapist!

I grew up with a single mum in a small coastal town in NSW, so I know how valuable having a helping hand and a reliable person around can be for families. I’ve always loved being part of a community and helping out where I can.

I’ve been looking after children since I was 16, initially babysitting for families in my local community before branching out to families I didn’t previously know.

I also have three years of experience working in childcare centres. This year I worked in the nursery room with babies aged 6–18 months, which I absolutely loved! I’m comfortable and confident caring for children of all ages, from newborns through to 10 years old.

I’d describe my approach as gentle, calm, fun and active. I love getting involved, whether that’s sport, painting, singing, dancing or just following the little ones’ lead. I’m passionate about supporting children’s growth and development, but most importantly, I want them to feel safe, happy and have fun!

Something that’s important to me is being a positive role model for young people. As a male working in early childhood, I know it’s not something you see every day, and I really value being able to show that men can be gentle, nurturing, patient and caring too. It’s something that means a lot to me and is a big part of why I love what I do, especially having not grown up with any examples of that myself.
