Meet Lara: A nanny and babysitter in North Ryde, NSW

Hi, My name is Lara and I have over 18 years experience as a nanny/carer. I am a Loving caring person and a grandmother of two beautiful little boys. I have experience with children from all age groups ranging from nursery to primary and high school. I am active and hands on. I am quick on my feet and take initiative with tasks. I am nurturing and fall in love with my families. I am also a special needs carer and looked after a beautiful autistic teenager on a casual basis on Sundays. I cared for him for over 3 years. For over 8 years I have been caring for a family full time 2 girls and 1 boy in Wolstonecraft. The children have are now independent and I am ready to continue my journey in providing love and care for a family that needs me. Prior to this was a full time nanny for 3 years in Northbridge for a beautiful girl and boy ages 7 and 6 respectively who attend primary school. I provided before and after school care Monday to Friday and full day time in some parts of the school holidays. I run errands after school ie, a quick visit to woollies if needs be, dentist &doctor appointments, arrange play dates, school ‘play in the park’ activities, and extra curricular activities e.g tennis.,drive home , shower/bath, cook dinner, supervise/help with homework, reading, dishes, general tidy up. I have been blessed to have shared many years with these precious families. They are more than happy to speak with you for further clarification regarding my role & abilities, work ethics and the type of person I am. On Fridays & Friday evenings, occasional Thursday and Saturday nights, I also cared for a gorgeous little boy, Mr Pre-schooler is now all grown up! Pick him up from preschool in Cammeray, take him to play dates, park, scooter/bike riding, afternoon tea, bath, cook him dinner, play time, read books, tuck him in bed and lullaby, I am confident with caring for babies and activities that engage developmental skills and learning. I am inherently a nurturer, understanding of life's demands ( well seasoned with experiences) and just love sharing my love and time with children. Frequently I help with full days. I worked with this family for 18months. I am active and energetic, a responsible person and look after the children as I would my own. I have a beautiful 31 year old daughter who was the director of a preschool in the Eastern Suburbs and now is a wonderful mother and I am a grandmother to two precious toddlers. . I am a Christian and a protective mother. I appreciate how precious our children are and therefore the children in my care are my number one priority. I know Lower and North Shore area very well, having being raised in Cammeray (where our family home remained until 2019) and I know many of the local parents and teachers. I have a First Aid Certificate and Working With Children Police Check. I am an experienced carer for children with Anaphylaxis and Asthma. In addition I have completed my Early Childhood Course and attained a Certificate 111. I am a caring and nurturing person, patient with children and ensure their needs are my highest priority. I am honest and trustworthy and an experienced cautious driver taking no risks and leaving nothing to chance. I take my duties and responsibilities very seriously when it comes to the safety and wellbeing of my families. I enjoy helping and encouraging children with their homework, projects and reading. I am a quick thinker, motivated and I take initiative and help around the house. I am an advocate for healthy eating, and am vigilant regarding allergies- lactose, gluten, dairy etc) I get the children involved and they enjoy being with me because we have a lot of fun together. I incorporate fun with learning outcomes ie provide mental stimulation, engage and encourage children with what interests them and work with families to assist with the developmental growth and well being of their children. In summary my work ethic is to work hand in hand with parents and families and respect and maintain the home culture. I am flexible and open to work around life's many surprises . I am available as a casual babysitter, or part time or long term position depending on the hours.
