Meet Melissa: A nanny and babysitter in South Yarra, VIC

Hi! I’m Melissa, and I’ve been working as a nanny and in childcare for over 7 years. I’ve been with my current family for 7 years, starting when the children were quite young and continuing with them as they’ve grown up. I’m more than happy to provide references from the family.

I’m currently studying my Master of Teaching (Primary), so working with children is something I genuinely love and plan to continue doing long-term.

I’m very hands-on and happy to help with whatever is needed while I’m there. I can cook and prepare meals, tidy up, do light cleaning and help keep things organised around the house. I’m also really big on actually engaging with the kids rather than just supervising them. I love coming up with activities, games, crafts and things to do that suit different ages and interests, whether that’s getting out of the house or creating something fun to do at home.

I’m reliable, caring and easy-going, and after being with the same family for so many years, I’m very used to becoming someone that both the children and parents can genuinely rely on.

At the moment, I’m looking to pick up some additional casual babysitting/nannying work alongside my current role. I’m generally available from around 6am until 1pm each day, so I’d be particularly suited to families needing morning help, school or kinder drop-offs, daytime care, help with younger children, or casual babysitting during those hours.
