Meet Charlotte: A nanny in Malvern, VIC

My name is Charlotte, I’m 23 years old and currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications at Swinburne University. I’ve lived in Malvern my whole life and went to both primary and high school in the area. I have two younger siblings – a 20-year-old brother and a 16-year-old sister. I’ve been looking after kids since I was 16 and have been nannying for over a year now. In that time, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a variety of families, including one nannying position with a lovely family for just under 12 months.

I recently finished up with a wonderful family, caring for a 7-year-old boy, working three mornings and afternoons a week. I would do school drop-offs and pick-ups, help him with his homework, and plan fun activities for us to enjoy in the afternoons. As a nanny, I also prepare nutritious meals, manage light housekeeping, supervise after-school activities, and organise both educational and recreational games. I help with transportation to extracurricular events and appointments. Throughout all tasks, I prioritise creating a safe, supportive environment that fosters the children's growth and well-being.

I also have experience with 2-year-olds and feel confident with all the usual tasks, like changing nappies and managing other needs at that age. I always make sure to keep kids busy with games and activities, and I’m happy to cook meals and clean up as needed. I love getting to know each child’s personality and finding activities they enjoy! I have a car and my P’s licence, so I can easily do school runs, take kids to after-school activities, or even take them on fun outings like going to the zoo or the park.
