Meet Vanessa: A nanny in Hampton East, VIC

Hi- I was a Primary School teacher for 23 years & only at 2 schools. Last school I taught for 17 years, Stella Maris Beaumaris and both my children attended there to. There was just a shift in the school and a few of us wanted a change. I’ve taught most levels & Prep last 8 years. I love the little ones, seeing them develop and learn & I’m very conscious of celebrating all their successes. I enjoy embracing their personalities & really getting to know even the little things in their lives. I could continue teaching, but feel I’d like a change.I consider myself compassionate, patient, empathetic, a good listener, fair, energetic, happy & really encourage the children to be really involved in their learning & not just being dictated to. I pride myself on routine, cleanliness and punctuality. Every afternoon I walk out with the children & have general conversations with parents, as it’s it takes a village to raise a child & to build trust. I’ve always had a great rapport with parents.Being open, honest, discreet, even if they can be challenging conversations. I believe the earlier issues are addressed, it’s so much more beneficial for the child. I often seek advice from colleagues and in some cases have specific leadership staff attend meetings with me. My 2 children are 20 & 16 so they’re very independent, hence I’m flexible with hours & live nearby in a new townhouse in Hampton East. I have my WWC & happy to get a police check. I have obviously done first aid & anaphylactic training last 23 years. I would just have to spend one day getting my level 2 certificate for this year.
