Meet Ian: A nanny and babysitter in New Lambton, NSW

I’m a father of an adult child, step dad, and grandfather to seven (age range 1 to 13) who now provides care to the next generation of parents. My own journey as a parent has armed me with a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of parenthood.

With many families having a limited support system, it gives me joy to help ease the load for other families in my community, by providing a supportive and trustworthy presence for your child/children. I now enjoy giving back and continue to experience the joy of children while helping other parents survive the endless juggle. Instead of having more children of my own (my youngest baby is now 19), I care for the children I look after like they are my own….and I might have the ENERGY and TIME that you are lacking in this busy phase of life!!! I am very intuitive to your child’s needs and emotions and my main priority is to keep them feeling safe and secure.

As a previous youth worker, working with at-risk youth in out-of-home care, I am intuitive and passionate about supporting children’s emotional, physical and developmental growth in a respectful and stimulating environment.

School pick-ups, play dates, extracurricular activities, or just having an extra person around if you get stuck - reach out and let’s see what you need. I am inclusive, celebrating children from all walks of life. I am stable, reliable and consistent in all areas of my life, including having been in a same sex relationship, including marriage, for 18 years. I care for children days and nights. I also work as a hairdresser.

I work with all ages from 2 months to teens.

I like to provide a range of different play experiences including outdoor activities, play that develops fine motor skills and also imaginative play. I’m also very happy to include park and recreational activities that encourages broader socialization with children of other ages.
