My name is Grace, and I currently live in Ringwood North, Melbourne. I am writing to express my sincere interest in joining your family as a nanny. While I do not have formal nanny experience, caring for children has been one of the most rewarding and meaningful parts of my life. I genuinely love spending time with children, helping them learn, grow, explore their interests, and feel safe, valued, and supported.
In South Korea, I worked with the Gangdong YMCA, where I designed and led physical activity programs for children. This role allowed me to work closely with children of different ages and personalities, helping them build confidence, develop social skills, and enjoy learning through movement and play. Seeing children smile, gain confidence, and achieve something new always brought me great satisfaction.
In addition, while studying Dance at university, I completed a teacher training program that provided me with educational knowledge and practical skills in working with young learners. Through both my studies and experience, I learned the importance of patience, positive encouragement, and creating an environment where children feel respected, understood, and supported.
Perhaps the most valuable experience I can offer comes from being a mother. I have raised two wonderful children, an older daughter and a younger son, and I have been actively involved in every stage of their growth and development. Rather than relying on private tutoring, I personally supported their learning and studied alongside them throughout their school years. Through consistency, patience, and encouragement, both of my children earned scholarships to respected private schools in Melbourne.
I also encouraged their musical education from a very young age. My daughter began learning the violin at the age of three, and my son started when he was three and a half. I supported them through years of practice, performances, and examinations, and both successfully completed AMEB violin examinations. This experience taught me that every child develops differently and that kindness, patience, and positive encouragement can help children discover their strengths and achieve their goals.
I am proud of the adults my children have become. Both went on to study at the University of Melbourne. My daughter completed a Master's degree in Nutrition and is now working for a major Australian company, while my son is currently studying Law at the University of Melbourne. For me, these achievements reflect not only academic success but also the values of perseverance, responsibility, and confidence that were nurtured throughout their upbringing.
As a mother, I understand that children need more than supervision. They need someone who listens to them, encourages them, celebrates their successes, comforts them when they are struggling, and helps them feel secure and loved. I believe children thrive when they are surrounded by warmth, consistency, and genuine care, and these are qualities I naturally bring to my relationships with children.
I am also a lifelong animal lover. Since childhood, I have always been surrounded by cats and dogs, and I have always felt comfortable caring for animals. Having pets has been a natural part of my life, and I would be very happy to assist with family pets as part of my role.
I would describe myself as warm, reliable, patient, and nurturing. I genuinely enjoy building positive relationships with children and supporting families in whatever way I can. My goal is always to create a safe, happy, and caring environment where children feel confident, valued, and encouraged to become the very best version of themselves.
Thank you very much for considering my application. I would be delighted to discuss how my experience, caring nature, and dedication to children's wellbeing could support your family. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and your children.
Kind regards,
Jungwon Grace
