Meet Olivia: A nanny and babysitter in Maroubra, NSW

Dear family,

My name is Olivia and I’m 26 years old. I have 8 years plus experience in childcare starting off babysitting 4 boys from Saudi Arabia (age ranging 1-9 years old) when I was just 16. They sadly moved back to Saudi in January 2020. I then did my childcare in college and did an apprenticeship to get my level 3 childcare alongside a nursery. I then got taken on at the nursery as cover staff making my way up to room leader, I have experience in all ages and now currently working in the baby room. I would like to widen my experience of nannying/babysitting and take it to a higher level of travelling abroad. I am a Christian and my faith is very important to me so I would love it if I have time to find a church and practice my religion in my own time. I am happy to do any duties the family provide me and I will always be willing to work with them to provide the best possible care for the children teamwork is important to me and I learn best by constructive criticism. I love to take children out on trips to the park, museum, aquarium, beach etc. I am a fun and enthusiastic girl who always likes to be on the go and having fun! I do believe in downtime and that children should have time to chill out and re-energise so a nice chilled out area to read books or sing nursery rhymes would be great. I feel I am firm but fair and I would talk to the child/ren about how they’re feeling to see how we can sort the situation out rather than getting cross with the child. I am first aid trained and have a full clear police check. I am really passionate about children and helping them learn through play I feel it is important to let the children help with jobs around the house or running errands because it makes them involved and feel like they’re important.

I am currently an au pair living in Maroubra which is just school hours 7-8:30am and 5-730 pm.
