EXPERIENCE & APPROACH:

I'm Philomena, a reliable, and dedicated nanny. I have 2+ years of formal childcare experience, plus extensive informal experience as the eldest of 7 homeschooled children. I am particularly interested in caring for children aged 1-5 years old (toddler range). I have excellent boundaries, and respect your space & privacy completely on and off-duty. I’m a mature 20-year-old, Queensland-born, native English speaker.

I am currently completing a role as a Temporary Holiday Live-in Nanny for a family with 9 children (2-15 years old). My duties include:

Full care of the 2-year-old, including all meals, diaper changes, and bedtime.

Encouraging and assigning the children their chores and applying consequences with parental support when needed

Morning and evening routines for younger children.

Managing child-related laundry and dishes (the family had a housekeeper)

Sourcing and organising all daily, screen-free activities.

Baking cookies and healthy treats together.

Arts and crafts: painting ('paint your own' kits), watercolour card making, working with oven-dry clay, baking cookies & cakes, and drawing with washable chalk.

Outdoor play, swimming supervision, and family swim time.

Reading bedtime stories and other quiet-time engagements.

I am completely phone-free while supervising and thrive in, and am seeking, a screen-free household environment. I have a direct but very loving and friendly activity & conversation-based approach with the children. I am happy to help parents with enforcing consequences and correcting behaviours if needed. I easily adapt to different cultures, having lived 6+ months in Cape Town, South Florida, and Vanuatu. My hobbies are horse-riding, sewing & baking and I am happy to participate in these activities with your children if desired. I am a practicing Catholic but happy to help families of all backgrounds.

LOGISTICS:

I do not drive but am open to getting a license in the future.

An excellent reference is available from my current employer.
