Meet Dessa: A nanny and babysitter in Blackburn, VIC

Hi families!! My name is Dessa. I am a first year psychology student, ballet dancer, and someone with a deep love and passion for caring for children.

I have cared for a wide range of children of varying ages, personalities, temperaments, and individual needs over the last 3 years. My experience includes supporting children throughout different parts of their daily routines, from playtime and lunchtime to bedtime and medication management. I have also spent time teaching dance to young children, which has strengthened my ability to communicate instructions clearly, maintain children’s attention, and create a fun and encouraging environment. This experience has taught me to be patient and adaptable, particularly when working with children who have different learning styles, confidence levels, and personalities. I am comfortable adapting my approach to suit each child, whether they require active engagement and supervision, assistance with routines, or additional patience and reassurance. Through these experiences, I have developed strong communication, organisation, responsibility, and problem-solving skills while creating a safe, supportive, and positive environment where children feel comfortable and cared for.

I currently hold a drivers license, car and valid WWWC. I am also happy to support in light cooking and cleaning whilst on the job.
