My name is April, I am 19 years old, and I am commencing my studies in 2026 in Youth Work and Criminology. It has always been a dream of mine to support less fortunate children and ensure they receive the love, care, and opportunities they deserve. I am passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives, and I am now seeking experiences that will complement my future studies.
I graduated from Carine Senior High School in 2024, where I completed a Certificate IV in Business and a Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation. These qualifications have equipped me with valuable skills in communication, organisation, teamwork, and leadership—skills that I believe are highly relevant to working with children and supporting others.
Looking after kids has always been a natural part of my life. I have a younger sister who is six years younger than me, and caring for her while she has grown up has given me patience, responsibility, and a deep understanding of nurturing children. Alongside this, I have babysat family friends for many years, which I have always found rewarding and enjoyable.
I am currently in the process of obtaining my Working With Children Check and Police Clearance, as these will be required for both my studies and future roles. I see this as an important step in ensuring I am fully prepared and responsible in any child-related position I take on.
I am motivated, caring, and eager to continue building my experience in child-focused environments while working towards my long-term goal of a career in Youth Work and Criminology.
