Hi families! I am a Japanese Brazilian preparing to do a Master's in Linguistics, currently working as a nanny and language tutor. I have experience in providing care for children of 3 months to 12 years old age range.
In North Melbourne, I assisted a lovely family with 3 children (ages from 1 to 8) for 2 years, 4 days per week and occasional weekends, and babysat for the family's friends over the weekends too, so I can provide great references. My duties included preparing breakfast, morning and afternoon snacks, lunch and dinner, dressing, changing nappies, bathing, taking them to the park or library, reading books, preparing craft activities, supervising them during playtime, organising toys, unloading/loading the dishwasher, and an occasional childcare/school pick up or drop off by foot.
In South Yarra, I assisted a couple of doctors with a 3-month-old baby, 4 days per week and occasional weekends, for 1 year. My duties included preparing and cleaning bottles, feeding and preparing solid food, dressing, changing nappies, taking him to the park, reading books, organising toys, unloading/loading the dishwasher, and occasionally preparing meals for the parents.
I have been working as a language tutor for more than 14 years, teaching mainly Japanese, but also Portuguese and English to people from different countries. Being an enthusiast of languages, I have also studied French to manage a trip to France and Italian to live in Rome for almost a year. I studied Arts at university as well, so I enjoy some crafting too.
As a South American, I value family and communication, so I consider that home should be a place where we feel loved, safe, and supported. As a Japanese descendant, I believe in the sense of community and being socially responsible to the people around us and the environment. I take great pleasure in explaining things to kids and have a patient personality.
Looking forward to meeting you :)
