My name is Deirdre (Dee), I am 54 years old and I am the mother of four adult sons. I have spent most of my adult life working in the childcare industry, from nannying in my early adult years through to in home childcare and then more recently working in a primary school setting, I feel very passionate about the wellbeing, care and fostering positive interactions with children as I know how vital these are in the long term development of the child. A child knowing they are cared for, that they are heard and that they belong - this is always at the forefront of my mind. I am a strong advocate for in home care where children are supported to learn and grow at their own pace and are cared for, encouraged and nurtured while in their own familiar surroundings.
