I have spent the first six months of this year (Jan-July) volunteering as an English teacher in rural Northern Thailand. During this, I lived and worked at an English speaking university and had to adapt to be able to effectively communicate. I also had to teach at a local primary school three days a week so have experience with younger children as well. I am very bubbly and outgoing and I am always up for a challenge. Before Thailand, I worked for a family twice a week with their 15 month old child for two months. I am comfortable with working with children and babies of all ages.

My name is Alexandra and I am studying a Bachelor of Social Work. A big part of my personality is getting to know people and having a good yarn as I believe that is the best way to understand someone. I really enjoy spending time with kids as I find there is a lot of fun and fulfilment from learning about them and getting to connect with them. When going out with friends or family I tend to gravitate to activities such as bowling, laser tag, the movies, or going out to eat. I'm relatively easy-going so as long as the company is good and happy then I'm happy! When at home, I enjoy (basic) knitting while watching some quality TV or movies. For TV I prefer docu-series or comedies or dramas (or a mix of all!). For movies I often pick the comedies or rom-coms, but you won't see me shying away from a scary movie if everyone in the room is in agreement. I love to paint, and though I'm no Michelangelo, I do believe it is so fun and calming, even if I'm just painting a solid colour on a canvas. I enjoy a drive around too and am not against driving to a new area for a good food spot or activity or museum to see. My current work is casual so I have a pretty flexible schedule.
