Hi my name is Lauren, I've recently relocated from Dublin, Ireland to the sunny eastern suburbs of Sydney. I have over 10 years of experience babysitting for family and friends and nannied full time whilst completing my college degree from 2017-2021. I have worked full time in the financial industry for the past 4 years whilst babysitting on the side. I'm excited at the opportunity return to what I love and am passionate about. I'm reliable, organised, and take my responsibility in caring for children very seriously. I have been a secondary caregiver for my wonderful, gentle 17-year-old brother, who has autism, epilepsy, dyspraxia, and a moderate learning disability. Caring for him has taught me patience, kindness, and empathy. Through caring for Evan, I've gained valuable experience in various approaches to supporting and teaching young children, including the use of social stories, visual supports and singing can help too. I also have 1 year experience working as a children's party coach so have lots of fun games to keep the little ones occupied and off their iPads! I also volunteered at summer camps for children with special needs before working full time. My approach to childcare is to create a safe, supportive, and fun environment where children can thrive. I always prioritise safety first, while also focusing on building trust and a positive connection with each child. I enjoy engaging children in activities that are both entertaining and educational like reading stories, doing arts and crafts, or playing outside because I believe children learn best through play. I also make sure to follow the family's routines and rules so the kids feel secure and cared for in a consistent way from the comfort in their own home.
