I am an experienced educator with six years as a Primary Teacher in the UK and more than a decade of childcare experience. Before teaching, I worked as a nanny for several families in Auckland, NZ, caring for children aged 1–7, and also spent a year working in an after-school club there. I am passionate about play-based learning and love supporting children as they explore, experiment and grow into their unique personalities. The most rewarding part of my work is seeing their confidence flourish as they learn new skills and proudly share their discoveries. As I relocate from the UK to Sydney, I am seeking a nanny role where I can bring my warm, nurturing approach and strong educational background to local families.
I have extensive experience in early childhood development and in planning engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s social, emotional and cognitive growth. I am confident working with infants, toddlers and early years children, and I use consistent, positive behaviour strategies to create calm and predictable routines. With current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training, I prioritise children’s safety and wellbeing and am experienced in managing allergies, medical needs and daily care routines. I communicate clearly with families, building trusting partnerships and keeping parents informed of their child’s routines and progress. I also draw on my teaching expertise to support early literacy and numeracy, foster independence and plan enriching experiences such as sensory play, creative arts, outdoor exploration and visits to Sydney’s parks, libraries and child-friendly community spaces.
