Hello!
We are looking for a lovely babysitter to care for our three year old casually for one week in June:
Monday 23 June - Friday 27 June
I have to work about 10 hours during this week and I'm pretty flexible around hours, these will be short shifts (10 hours across the whole week) and I might be working from home. This role is within the home (apartment).
We're flexible with fee for the right person!
We're thinking something like the below, may end up being a little more than 10 hours:
2.5 hours per day across 4x days (10 hours total)
2 hours per day across 5 days (10 hours total)
3 x 4 hour shifts (12 hours total)
If youβd like to apply, read the ad and drop me a note to let me know a bit about yourself, your experience and your availability. We're looking for someone who's had experience babysitting/nannying before.
π©βπ¨About the role:
We are hoping for someone to join us for casual babysitting for one week in June while I (the Mumma) can work for 10 hours, with the potential for further casual work in the future (but not required at this stage). I may be working from home while you babysit, this isn't known yet.
π¦ About the client:
A beautiful 3 year old boy! He's very (very) chatty, funny and quirky. He loves numbers, letters, puzzles, socialising, cars, dancing, singing, colouring, generally playing with games and toys. He is very active physically and because we live in an apartment, we're looking for a babysitter who can keep his mind busy - by playing games and counting and teaching him things (to avoid too much running and climbing inside).
He's an avid learner at this stage and we find he's happiest when being taught about letters, numbers, words, puzzles and doing fun things like building towers, blocks, counting, making race tracks, drawing together. Think: encouraging him to stay sill and calm is best. We have lots of games/toys to keep busy!
He's just started potty training, so we'd love if someone has had experiencing with potty training and is okay with helping with accidents in a calm and supportive, gentle manner. Hopefully he'll be further along by end of June!
π«About the parents:
We are both freelancers who work in music and the arts. We are openminded and we value humour, nature, kindness, empathy and compassion. We want to ensure the babysitters we work with feel supported and valued in their role.
π About you:
We are looking to meet someone who has an interest in teaching young ones about life! We are looking to meet someone who is attentive, nurturing, patient, fun, caring, gentle and calm. If you've had experience with a very energetic (and clever) toddler, that's a bonus.
We find that our little one is quite sensitive and responds really well to calm (not too loud or intense) and responds well to people who are happy to engage in teaching things (he just absolutely loves learning about numbers at the moment!) He is funny and really appreciates little jokes. He LOVES music and singing.
We are looking for someone who is experienced enough to assist with potty training and understands the nuances that comes with a clever, but sensitive 3 year old (i.e. navigating the occasional tanty with patience). We find our little one loves the short shifts with babysitters.
I used to be a babysitter/nanny myself and met most of my babysitting clients on this website! I made so many amazing, longstanding connections with the families of the kids who are all grown up now and I still keep in touch with them and visit them 15-20 years later! Babysitting taught me so much that I am now applying as a new Mamma.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
