A little about our family 🤍
We’re a family of four based in Newtown, Geelong, with two little girls, aged 4.5 and 2. I’m a stay-at-home mum, Pilates instructor and currently studying house design, while my husband runs his own financial planning business nearby.
Our girls are playful, creative and absolutely hilarious little humans, and more than anything, we’d love to find someone who genuinely delights in spending time with them! Someone who enjoys getting down on their level, following their imaginations, embracing the messiness of play, heading outdoors and building a really beautiful connection with them.
We’re hoping to find someone who feels like a natural extension of our family, rather than simply someone coming in to supervise the girls.
What we’re looking for
I absolutely love being home with the girls, so we’re not necessarily looking for someone to take over their care entirely. Some of the hours would involve us all coexisting at home, while others would give me an opportunity to step away and run errands if needed, recharge or work and study from a separate space on our property.
One thing that’s particularly important to us is finding someone who is naturally proactive and happy to move between spending time with the girls and helping with the everyday running of the home.
For example, if I’m spending time with one or both girls, it would be wonderful to have someone who can independently notice what needs doing — whether that’s tidying up the day’s little messes, tending to the clean washing that’s forever piling up (or a wet load in the machine!), giving the floors a quick vacuum or preparing something simple to eat.
Equally, there will be times when I’d love someone to take the lead with the girls so I can tend to those things myself, focus on my work or simply have some uninterrupted time.
We avoid screens during the week and love spending as much time outdoors as possible. We also have a pool that the girls love to spend time in! While swimming with them isn’t essential, it’s certainly something they’d love to share on warmer days. Our eldest is a confident swimmer and our youngest still needs one-on-one help, with both requiring somebody willing to be in the water with them if the pool is to be used.
Hours and availability
We’re looking for approximately 5–12 hours per week, with flexibility around how those hours are arranged.
We have regular activities on Tuesday mornings, Wednesday afternoons and occasionally Thursday mornings that i will take them to, but otherwise have flexibility throughout the week.
We are looking to find someone interested in an ongoing arrangement, allowing the girls to build a meaningful and lasting relationship with you.
