Hi, looking for carers and carer assistants to care for 11yo with disability - cerebral palsy, epilpesy (seizures at night only).
He is easy going and his smile and giggle will warm your heart. He loves robots, PJ masks, Paw Patrol, art and reading stories. He can walk, but is slow and shuffles, so needs someone close by, in case he trips.
Days are flexible, but likely 1-2 afternoon shifts approx 2-8pm (collect from school in Mitchelton on the train, walk home, give afternoon tea, play, prepare for bed) And weekend shifts about 6 hours. School holidays will be longer shifts.
Duties include:
- feeding ( pureed foods only)
- giving hourly water through a PEG (training provided)
- hoisting into feeding chair/wheelchair
- getting dressed, showering, assist with toileting
- light household duties and cooking
Looking for carers who have previous babysitting experience, and preferable to be studying teaching/nursing allied health. Then also happy to have people with less experience to be carer assistant (must be 16+) who can assist the carer.
Start date is flexible - anytime from now until start of Christmas holidays. I have 2 carers graduating university, so need some extra set of hands:-)
Pay will be based on experience. You can invoice me if you have your own ABN, otherwise I can pay you through pay roll. You must have TFN and SUPER account, which are easy to apply for. We can cover First Aid training and WWWC. Paid 3 hour trial will be given, so you can see if the fit is right for you.
We are in Ferny Grove, walking distance to train station. Car not needed.
