I'm a 18 year old, who recently graduated highschool and is looking for a job while on break. As well as looking for experience with children as a future teacher.

Good morning my name is Carmel and I am very interested in caring for your 8 year old daughter. I have 6 grandchildren and love being involved with their lives. I have worked in the Education Department (in schools) for over 21 years as an Education Support Officer and also in the office. I worked as a Support Officer in East Gippsland for 3 years before gaining employment as a Pharmacy Assistant in Metung for 3 and a half years before moving to Yarragon in 2024. I gained in employment as a Pharmacy Assistant in Drouin not long after moving here. I am finding that retirement is a bit quiet and I am wanting to do more with my time and would love to spend time with children and enjoy being a part of their learning, development and having quality time together. I had a Police Check done in 2024 as I did some voluntary work in Aged Care when we first moved to Yarragon.

I currently work at a before and after school care centre, where I support kids with learning, play, and building confidence in a safe, fun environment. I love creating engaging activities, helping with homework, and making sure children feel happy and secure. I’m responsible, patient, and great at building positive connections with families. At the moment I have just completed a course for assisting kids in early childhood and at the primary age. I am an experienced, caring, creative and imaginative person who simple loves kids. I have two much younger siblings who I help raise and teach. I love crafts, creative games and spending time outdoors. I also love teaching and have had a lot of experience with kids in a variety of positions eg. acrobatics coach, kids camp leader, homeschool group coordinator, Sunday school teacher, babysitting roles etc.
