Hi, my name's Ingrid. I'm a nanny and tutor with over 8 years of experience. At the moment (as of July 2024) I am looking regular part-time work (max 16hrs/week) or one-off casual work around Canberra, particularly in West Belconnen. My available days and times are current as of 05/07/2024 and I am very particularly interested in school drop-offs in the mornings, but could also do pick-ups on Thurs/Fri. I'm partway through my Masters of Social Work and will finish at the end of this year and fiiiinally be done with studying! I love working with kids and have done so all through my university career. I have a full, clean license and my own car, and a booster seat suitable for 4 years and up (happy to use your seats too!). I'm a massive sociology nerd and avid reader who will rant at length about the history of the bicycle if you give me the opportunity. I completed my honours year in 2019 studying the use of hashtags for reasons besides categorisation on the website Tumblr (sociology) and published a journal article about it with my colleague in 2021! I'm also a big fan of Doctor Who and fantasy/sci-fi, the sort of fan who'll ruin trivia nights. I don't drink or smoke, but I do have a (hypoallergenic, Russian Blue) cat so if you or your child have severe allergies please keep this in mind. I love to fill in time doing arts & crafts with kids, helping them with their homework (I've also been a tutor for 8 years!) or playing games. I really believe in incorporating learning into day-to-day life and I like to think the kids like it too. I have experience with kids aged 3 months - 17 years. References on request.

I have been working with children for over thirty years, working with children ranging from new born to 14 years of age. I have first aid certificate and police check, excellent references and excellent resource and materials. I am able to offer a huge range of craft and activities for every age group. I can cook nutritional meals that are also tasty, from stir fry to roasts. I have always loved my work, it is a wonderful experience.

Previously worked as a qualified/childcare educator in childcare centres mostly 2007-2023. Wishing to continue working as a nanny/day-time babysitter. Desiring 4 whole or part time days per week. Have previously started as early 08:00, willing to start earlier, for school drop offs or finished as late as 20:30 after school pick ups. Not necessarily seeking to finish that late. Transported children to & from after school activities in my or supplied by families cars with supplied child car seat/s. Term 1 this year I did school pick ups & cared for 6yr old & 9 yr old sibling a few afternoons a week similar to my (lower down the page) 2022 family. Their care requirements had changed for term 2 so I have blanket availability. Over the 2022 school year, I regularly worked as a live-out nanny for a 4yr old & 6yr old siblings. I cared for the 4yr old at least most of one day a week & drove her to her daytime activities & both to after school swimming lessons. Was approx 20 hours/week. During extreme weather I would encourage/join in with card/board games, make available indoor activities such as art, sewing & craft. Able to bring my sewing machine. I discourage screen time. Very open to your ideas of extracurricular activities & once I know your family better & your local area I am confident to make suggestions to you. Very capable & willing to assist with homework. I have parent, personal & work referees. Still do the odd school pick up/Fri or Sat late afternoon til late evening care for my 2022 family. My family & I are very outdoorsy. We have a large vegetable garden. We took our children camping, bicycling, on picnics on remote river banks & on long caravan road trips. As far as I am concerned there is no such thing as bad weather as long as you have the appropriate clothing (except of course the extreme outdoor sun & heat of summer.) Would do indoor activities in these instances. Love to jump in puddles or mud, go for long walks to local playgrounds or transport children to outdoor destinations.
