My friends would describe me as a natural born leader with a joyful attitude I was raised in a loving environment where we learned to put family first, and work together to help bring up our younger relatives such as my cousins, nieces and nephews. After all, "it takes a village to raise a child" :) My family and I regularly donate and volunteer in orphanages for children where we would create activities, help in cooking, as well as help in feeding them. During vacation, I would volunteer in my local council to teach and educate children aged 6-15 years old. I would teach basic writing and reading in English, including basic mathematics. Hi, I’m Robyn. I’m originally from England, although I have been living here in beautiful Sydney now for nine and a half years. I have been providing Child Care as a career nanny for just over 14 years (since Feb 2011) - my job has led me to work across the UK, some places in Europe, the States and Australia! I’m a professional nanny and I’ve been looking after kids of all ages for 10 years (started when I was 19). I have undertaken different types of child care as well combination of roles such as sole charge, overnight nanny, holiday and weekend babysitting, housekeeping, personal assistant and child care I’m looking for a long term role, my longest role was 3 years. It’s important for me to form a bond with the kids I’m looking after and to be a positive influence on them. I try to balance gentle, kind and loving with providing structure, routine and boundaries for kids. I think that balance is important to keep them grounded and teach them to be well rounded. I Believe in providing acknowledgement and validation for their feelings and experiences but also appropriate consequences when necessary and to place boundaries. I like to encourage kids to be independent, curious, get them thinking and learning, building self esteem and to instil strong values I’m a safe driver with a clean driving record.
