Hi, my name is Carly! I have worked in a childcare setting for the past four years in a variety of roles, including Room Leader, Responsible Person and Assistant Educator. I am now looking for casual work with children as I begin my journey back to university. I have experience working with children aged 4 months to 5 years, with particularly strong experience supporting children aged 6 months to 3 years through my childcare background. This has given me extensive knowledge of the key developmental areas for these ages, as well as the activities and learning experiences that best support continuous growth and development. My philosophy is that building strong, trusting connections with children is the most important part of working in this field. I believe in fostering a sense of independence while always ensuring children feel safe, supported, and engaged. I also hold my First Aid certification, complete yearly CPR refreshers, have my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and hold my Mandatory Reporting certificate. Alongside this, I have worked with children with a wide range of additional needs and feel confident in my ability to provide loving, nurturing care tailored to each child’s individual needs.

I have extensive hands-on experience caring for children through helping raise my six younger siblings, including siblings with ADHD and autism. This has equipped me with strong skills in patience, communication, adaptability, and providing supportive care tailored to each child's individual needs. In addition, I have worked as a tutor, supporting students with their learning and helping them build confidence in a positive and encouraging environment. I hold a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check), demonstrating my commitment to providing safe and responsible care. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Counselling at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where I am developing a strong understanding of communication, child development, wellbeing, and interpersonal skills. I am reliable, compassionate, organised, and committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for every child in my care.

I am happy, fun-loving, outdoorsy, sporty, fit, healthy, very energetic but also relaxed and calming. I love kids, have raised 3 girls on my own, understand children very well, have worked for over 12 years in a primary school and 8 years in a childcare centre, constantly have children around and in my life and love it that way. Ideally, I would like to work for just one family, meeting their childcare needs during and after school hours and school holidays, but I am totally flexible.
