Hi, Iām Abby! Iām based in Coogee and currently studying a Bachelor of Wildlife Conservation. Before this, I studied Social Work and Psychology, which gave me a strong interest in child development and creating a calm, positive environment for children. For the first two years of studying at The University of Sydney, I lived on campus at St Andrews College.
I occasionally work as a babysitter through Juggle Street and have experience caring for children, helping with routines and homework, keeping them entertained and making sure they feel safe and supported. Before my mum became a police officer, she worked at Waverley Early Education Centre, where I would volunteer after school and help out wherever I could, which I absolutely loved. I have always been told Iām good with children and find it easy to connect with them.
I have also worked at racing stables since I was 15. This has taught me to be extremely reliable, responsible, hardworking and calm in stressful situations. Iām very loyal and committed to the things I take on and always try to give 100% in everything I do.
Iām very active and have played rugby, Oztag and touch football for many years, as well as competing at a national level in cross-country, so I love getting outside and keeping children active. I also have two dogs and a rabbit, who are my absolute world, and volunteer with WIRES caring for injured and orphaned native animals, so Iām very comfortable with family pets.
I have a current Working With Children Check, my own car and a full driverās licence. Iām patient, friendly, caring and genuinely enjoy spending time with children and helping families wherever I can.
