We are looking for a regular after school babysitter for 2 kids (6&7), around Murrumbeena on Thursdays (3:30 to approx 5:30/6 when parent arrives).

Role involves:
-Pickup kids from school at 3:30 sharp (school and home is near train station)
-Walk/drive home (approx 1.2kms)
-Make snacks for children, get dressed, help with homework (basic readers), walk dog, general play and basic tidying up

If possible - prepare dinner for kids

Car can be provided if necessary but you can also walk.

Looking for a long term commitment so you can get to know the kids.

Reliability and punctuality are crucial.

Hi!

We are a family of 4, with two boys aged 12 and 7.5.

We need after school care on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3 to 6:30 pm.

Duties include:
- school pickups (from 1 school 600m away, the other is 3.5 km away)
- snacks
- drop off and pick up from tennis (3 km away)
- tidying up
- dinner/meal prep
- helping kids to pack up clothes, shoes, unpack school bags will be appreciated.

Both kids are high energy and love tennis, enjoy 0.5 hour of video games (except no technology-day is Wednesdays), are diligent but need gentle reminder on school homework etc. one boy does swimming lessons on Fridays. Time management is a great skill to have, as the boys are almost always 'on the go' but need to be organised in terms of packing tennis bags, water bottles, solid/healthy snacks etc.

Those with ongoing careers in childcare (E.g., either diploma courses, or experience in childcare centres) will be preferred. We have strong preference for those who are reliable and professional and will arrive on time and not skip days once they commit to this role.

He is supported after school 3pm-8pm, weekends and school holiday. One of his current support workers is going away later in the year and we are looking to start training someone to replace her starting end of june. Days are flexible with, tuesday s d wedensday after school available and fortnightly Sundays 3pm-8pm available. To start with we would be looking for 1-2 shifts per week with the potential to increase in the future. All training and ongoing support is provided by me so no need for prior experience but this is highly regarded. You would need to be mature, nurturing, and to have a passion for working with children and learning new skills as well as the ability to stay calm when child is dysregulated and adapt to ongoing training and feedback. Someone who is either working in or aspiring to work in behaviour support, occupational therapy, speech therapy or physio therapy would be perfect for this role as we work closely with these therapies and integrate goals into what we do with the children on a daily basis. Please note a drivers licence and access to a car is essential for the role. We are currently looking for a nanny to do occasional Friday and Saturday evenings with the potential of taking over our current Nanny’s days Mondays and Wednesday 8am - 3:30pm starting in October.
Our Nanny’s one year visa is expiring however she hopes to return in February 2026, so please keep in mind that this job will be from October - late Jan 2026.

We would love a nanny who has at least 5 years of experience in early childhood and experience with babies is a must!

M&W work details:
Our 2.5yo enjoys outings to the park and other activities that arise in our local area.
He loves to play 1:1. His interests are playing in his kitchen, transport, baking, imaginative play, dancing, music and art and craft.
Your other duties would involve doing some light housework and tidying up after our son.
I am on maternity leave from teaching so I’ll be around (but not hovering) whilst you are here, however I will be running errands outside of home and sometimes find me doing work for my husband.
You will mostly be looking after our 2.5yo and at times both boys for an hour or so (when I need to leave the house or catch up on sleep).
Our 2.5yo has anaphylaxis to cashews and pistachios and has an allergy to egg. It is vital you have first aid and are confident using an epipen.
